Celebrating Achievement at Springfield School

At Springfield School, we believe that every child deserves to experience success and have their achievements recognised and celebrated. While academic progress is important, we place a strong emphasis on celebrating the positive values, attitudes and personal qualities that help our pupils thrive.

Our school values of Be Kind, Be Happy and Be Great are at the heart of everything we do and form the foundation of our achievement and reward systems. We actively celebrate pupils who demonstrate kindness towards others, contribute positively to our school community, show resilience when faced with challenges and strive to be the very best version of themselves.

Achievement is celebrated daily through our Values Rewards system, where pupils have their photograph moved onto a visual display when they demonstrate one of our school values. Pupils can also receive Values Certificates, recognising exceptional examples of kindness, positivity, perseverance, effort and personal achievement. These celebrations help pupils understand that success is not only about what they learn, but also about who they are and how they treat others.

Pupils are further rewarded through Springfield Pounds, which are earned for demonstrating the school values, working hard and showing great effort. Throughout the week, pupils work towards Choice Time on a Friday afternoon, where they can take part in a range of exciting enrichment activities as a reward for their commitment and positive attitude.

Achievement is captured and celebrated through our Chapter 3 Progression Assessment Tool and MyStory, which provide a holistic picture of each pupil’s learning journey, personal development and individual successes. These systems help us recognise progress across the curriculum, EHCP outcomes and wider personal achievements. Where appropriate, pupils also participate in statutory assessments, ensuring that all aspects of achievement are recognised and valued.

We believe that celebrating achievement is most meaningful when it is shared. Through ClassDojo, parents and carers regularly receive updates, photographs and examples of success, allowing families to celebrate their child’s achievements alongside us.

At Springfield School, achievement is about more than academic outcomes. It is about recognising effort, celebrating personal growth, valuing kindness and creating opportunities for every child to Be Kind, Be Happy and Be Great every day.
