At Springfield School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children and young people are most able to thrive in education when they feel safe, supported and understood.
Our commitment to safeguarding is reflected in our investment in a dedicated safeguarding and family support structure. We have a senior leader who serves as the Designated Safeguarding Lead with no teaching or learning responsibilities, ensuring that safeguarding remains a clear strategic priority and that children, families and staff have access to timely support, guidance and decision-making.
Alongside this, our in-house Family Support Team works directly with pupils and families on a daily basis, providing early help, practical support and advocacy when it is needed most. This enables us to respond quickly to emerging needs, build trusted relationships and help overcome barriers that may impact on a child’s wellbeing, safety or education.
Based within our schools and working in partnership with a wide network of external agencies, we take a collaborative, child-centred approach to supporting families. By placing the child at the centre of every decision and intervention, we ensure that children and families can access the right support at the right time.
Through meaningful relationships, early intervention and strong multi-agency working, we strive to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their full potential.
